There was one change in the defence with Luke Sleeman starting ahead of Alex Butters at left back. Henry Ellis, James Ford and Elliot Griffiths all started as the rest of the back 4. A great body check from Jacob Turner won Bodmin a free kick in a dangerous area however it was headed away.

Corey Stewart went for an audacious volley in the 12th minute however his 25 yard strike ended up more like a drop goal.

Brown again broke down the right hand side picking out Carthew with his pass who was blatently fouled in the penalty area however the referee obviously struggled to see without the floodlights and for some bizarre reason awarded a goal kick.

In the 17th minute there was a huge injury concern for Bodmin after captain Jacob Turner fell awkwardly following a 50-50 with an opposition midfielder, Turner landed on his left shoulder leaving him in some discomfort.

Corey Stewart was again provider with a great cross that Carthew was unable to meet Stewart's cross with the keeper easily claiming the cross.

A minute later a great volleyed pass from Pearce sent Taphouse on a break down the left hand side however his cross was not met due to no Bodmin attacker being anywhere near the penalty area.

A miss-kick from Newquay's goalkeeper in the 22nd minute was unable to be capitalised on by either Carthew nor Taphouse.

Captain Turner was then forced off due to agony suffered in his left shoulder, Taylor Hartill came on in his place with Taphouse moving into the central midfield trio.

In the 24th minute Newquay went on a darting run straight through the Bodmin defence however the final shot was unable to test Crook with the chance going way over the woodwork.

Bodmin would've felt unlucky not to score in the 25th minute after hitting the cross bar twice in a matter of seconds. Jake Pearce won the home side a free kick which was well taken by Taphouse, Griffiths' header from the set piece bounced off the crossbar with Pearce's acrobatic effort from the rebound also hitting the crossbar from close range.

Brown and Carthew once again linked up down the right hand side after Browns pass found Carthew with his shot being blocked for a corner.

Newquay once again broke down the left hand side with a low driven cross being turned on goal forcing a good save from Crook however the shot had already been disallowed for offside.

Bodmin nearly had a chance from some "Route one" play after a long clearance from Ellis picked out Carthew however he was blocked off preventing any real danger for Bodmin. A minute later, Carthew again tried breaking down the right side but his cross was unfortunately blocked.

In the 42nd minute, Carthew tried beating the keeper off of his line on the angle from distance however his effort went wide.

On the edge of half time Josh Taphouse had leave the field after struggling with breathing problems however he was fine after a quick inhaler break.

Corey Stewart once again nearly set up a good chance however the Newquay keeper was quick off the mark to stop Hartill causing any danger.

Early on in the second half, an attempted clearance from Crook turned into a goalkeeping blunder after the ball bobbled over his foot as he attempted to boot it away, a Newquay forward quickly sprinted round Crook tapping it in to put Newquay ahead.

They doubled their lead less than 60 seconds later after a Newquay corner was met by a good header beating Taphouse in the air to put Newquay 0-2 ahead.

Corey Stewart got his side fired up having to stand in as captain nearly scored from a free kick won by himself with his long range effort forcing a good save out of the keeper who tipped his set piece onto the bar. Stewart then inspired more great passing from the home side forcing a corner in the process.

Elliot Griffiths nearly pulled one back for Bodmin in the 57th minute after a looping header forced another good save out of the Newquay corner following a long range free kick by Ellis.

Newquay could have gone 3-0 ahead on the counter attack however the final touch was extremely heavy rolling straight at Crook.

Taylor Hartill had been playing very well however he was controversially taken off in the 61st minute in place of Brad Mills. Bodmin then went to a 4-3-3 with Brown on the left wing and Mills slotting in on the right.

The bobbly pitch once again forced a scuffed clearance from Crook however Griffiths was there once again to dent another slip up.

Ollie Brown then went on a run down the left hand channel however his attempted cut in cross went straight at the keeper.

Luke Sleeman then had chance from a free kick after Henry Ellis was fouled despite his effort going over.

A minute later Carthew and Brown had good build up play down the right with the final chance blocked.

In the 77th minute Hartill was re-introduced in place of Sleeman who was forced off with a calf-strain. Bodmin desperate of at least a point changed to 3-4-3 with Ellis, Ford and Griffiths playing as back 3, Mills and Pearce playing as wing backs, Stewart and Taphouse in central midfield and Hartill playing as the centre forward with Brown and Carthew either side of him.

Bradley Mills was sin binned after 80 minutes after accidentally running into an opposing player and the referee was forced to blue card Mills who was sin binned for 8 minutes.

Bodmin surely though they had pulled one back after Carthew's volley cannoned off the post with Browns rebound also hitting the woodwork.

The match ended as a 2-0 defeat for Bodmin with more concern coming from captain Jacob Turner whose damaged ligaments in his left shoulder reportedly forcing him out for the remainder of the season. This leaves the Bodmin coaching staff with a dilemma as on who to replace Turner as part- time captain.

Corey Stewart ran the show for Bodmin being an easy candidate for Bodmin's player of the day his passing and creativity was second to none and his work rates on top form. Elliot Griffiths also played very well at centre half being solid at the back as well as having two of Bodmin's closest chances of the match. Both Griffiths and Stewart  are very strong contenders to take over as skipper. Other good performances came from Luke Sleeman who was solid at Left Back and Taylor Hartill who the majority of the fans felt should've started the game.

St Breward manager Richard Brown made 3 changes to the side that was knocked out of the league cup last week. Brown started with a common 4-5-1 formation that his side have frequently used throughout this season. Lee Newton was rested ahead of the Cornwall Sunday Cup final less than 24 hours after kick off so Martin Jago started in goal. Both Steve Aldous and Mike Hoskin returned to the starting line-up as the two full-backs after long absences from the team. Paul Dowson and Dan Couch maintained their partnership at centre back. St Breward started the game on the front with their first half chance coming within seconds of kick off, Nathan Elliot broke down the right hand side however his cross was caught before Ben French could get there.

In the 4th minute, Ben French had a close range free kick blocked from just outside the area. 5 minutes later French had 2 good chances within a minute. The first being a break through the middle which was unfortunately flagged for offside. French was then laid off by Karl Croft following some good midfield play through the Grampound defence however his shot from the edge of the box goes over the cross bar.

In the 16th minute, Ben French had yet another with a free kick, however his effort went over the bar.

In the 23rd minute, Steve Aldous were left on the receiving end of a disgraceful foul after the Grampound midfielder slid in with his studs showing clattering into Aldous, due to the referees restricted view he was unable to give out any card and Steve Aldous was forced to be carried off. Oli Mitchell came on in place of Aldous with Mike Hoskin moving to right back.

Grampound's 'keeper nearly scored from a goal kick a minute later with Jago forced to tip the goal kick over the cross bar.

In the 28th minute, St Breward should have easily gone ahead, some great skill from Oli Mitchell was followed up by a good pass to Nathan Elliot who beats three players going in one on one he attempted to square his pass however visiting defender Tom Molyneux was able to clear any danger.

3 minutes later, Oli Mitchell really started to show-boat after beating 2 the players in the air just by keepie-uppies however he was eventually pressured off the ball.

A free kick in the 37th minute taken by Oli Mitchell on the halfway-line put in the box that was cleared by the Grampound defence who cleared the cross only as far as Mike Hoskin whose 30 yard shot deflected off of Molyneux beating his own keeper and putting St Breward 1-0 up in the process.

In the 79th minute Grampound won a free kick on the edge of the box conceded by substitute Holt however the free kick forced a good save from Martin Jago. St Breward's final substitution came with Ben French making way for Luke Richards.

Bodmin College Academy team-mates Josh Galvin and Tom Molyneux certainly showed signs of a mini-rivalry after a stupidly late challenge from Galvin wiped out Molyneux however no love was lost between the two of them.

Josh Galvin could've and should've got his first goal in men's football after the Grampound 'keeper cleared his pass straight to Galvin whose Beckham-esque lob was struck perfectly however the cross bar denied his chance of a first goal for Breward.

The match finished with a 1-0 win to St Breward which helps them into their late quest for a top 4 position. St Breward are currently 6th in the league with 3 games remaining. Grampound Reserves drop to 11th place and could seriously be facing the relegation battle, with only 3 games left of the season, it may be a case of too little to late for them.

Phil Edwards could've easily been sent off after sliding in obnoxiously into Holmes-Dennis and was very lucky not to even concede a fouled.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be disappointed to concede a late goal as all Plymouth offered was the long ball. Burton's main threats came from Akins and Palmer who tested Plymouth's defence at times

John Sheridan will be happy with a point in a game where they were luck to take a draw. Burton proved why they are top of the league. Plymouth's key performances came from debutant Gethin Jones who highly impressed on his first and Man Of The Match Carl McHugh who despite his deflection leading to the first goal, was solid all game and contributed with a late equaliser.

Burton Albion's lead at the top of the SkyBet league 2 table is now lowered to just a point and Plymouth Argyle stay in 7th with their play off hopes still in tact.
