Match Report 3rd December 2014: Wadebridge School vs Bodmin College Academy
Morris made 10 changes to the side who drew with Penwith in the league last week for this friendly away at Wadebridge. Only Tom Molyneux retained his place in the starting line up. Other changes saw Jamie Kallicki go in goal, a new look partneship in the middle of midfield which saw Jonty Colman make only his second start of the season and Ryan Parsons make his first start for the team. There was also a new look strike partneship as Marco Santos Rocha and Ben Woodward both made their second starts of the season. Henry Ellis took the captaincy for this match.
Bodmin scored their first after just a few minutes on the clock. A short goal kick was intercepted by Jonty Colman who managed to pick out Ryan Parsons who placed his shot past the goalkeeper.
Bodmin should have been 2-0 up after a headed clearence from opposition centre back Harry Webster gave Jonty Colman a volley from 12 yards which unfortunatley swerved away from the back post.
Bodmin did eventually go 2-0 up after some persistent pressure from Ryan Parsons gifter Santos Rocha with a 1 on 1 which mearly trickled past the goalkeeper.
Henry Ellis had two good chances from seperate corners after poor marking at the back post that he was unluck not to put away.
Bodmin went 3-0 up just before the break another chance from captain Henry Ellis was turned in by Ryan Parsons at the back post for his second of the match.
Just before half time manager Morris made 2 changes. Ben Woodward made way for Josh Galvin up top and Jonty Colman was replaced by Corey Stewart in the middle of the park.
Bodmin went into half time 3-0 up with Morris content with his sides performance with a plea to keep a clean sheet. Morris also made a change at half time which saw left back James Stanbridge make way for Tom Gormley.
Bodmin went 4 up 15 minutes into the second half. A goal kick from Kallicki was flicked on from Taphouses head into the path of substitute Josh Galvin who struck it home from close range.
Shortly after that Bodmin made their final substitute of the game as Danny Gerry came on at left midfield which saw Josh Taphouse make way.
With just 10 minutes left Corey Stewart added Bodmin's 5th. A great corner from goalscorer Josh Galvin picked out Stewart at the back post. His initial header hit the post but the ball rebounded back onto Stewart's face in comical fashion to give him a very parculiar goal.
Bodmin however were unable to keep a clean sheet after Jack Brays long distance strike with only minutes left sent Kallicki the wrong way much to Morris' despair.
The game finished 5-1 to the away side. It's a result which saw a second string side take a well needed confidence bost and some potential selection dilemmas for Chris Morris. Bodmins best player was arguably Ryan Parsons picking up 2 goals and an assist on his first start ironically against his old sid. Another good performance came from Jamie Kallicki who was solid when tested and undeservedly conceded at the end.
